3 Steps to Get Healthy Fast

So here you are… still 10-30 pounds overweight, fatigued, moody, and sometimes… angry.

  1. REDUCE STRESS: Easier said then done? Not necessarily. What it takes is you getting COMMITTED to your health and taking anything off your plate that doesn’t bring you joy. Not into that book club that you have been going to for four years? Is that one friend still draining you completely every time you talk? Do you actually hate running and would rather spend that time doing laps or in yoga?   2. HEAL YOUR DIGESTION: Research has shown that a good amount of stress in the system is caused by poor digestion. Ask yourself a few basic questions… “Do I get bloated or gassy every time I eat?” “Am I eliminating at least once a day on a regular basis?” “What is my energy like after I eat?”  The answers to these questions will help us determine if your body is breaking down the food you eat and using it for fuel. Even the healthiest food in the world is close to useless if your body can’t properly utilize it.   3. GET ENOUGH SLEEP: You have heard it before but we are going to tell you again… your body needs the proper amount of sleep so it can rebuild and rejuvenate at night. When you rob your body of the sleep that it requires for optimal living, you are doing a great disservice to yourself. Ask this question, “Why don’t I go to bed when I say I am going to?” Really get curious and see what is there for you. Is it because you are procrastinating, staying up watching mindless TV? Are you trying to meet a deadline or get everything ready for the next day? A simple solution to all of this avoidance is to get better organized with your time. Choose your top three priorities that you want to get done each day and stay focused. Anything more than that is a cherry on top. And create a PM Ritual for yourself that includes a specific time that you turn off all technology, pull back the sheets, and allow yourself to relax and rebuild physically, mentally, and emotionally.
